Evolving Equestrian Themes

May 20, 2012

Over the years I have made dozens of equestrian sculptures often with quite innovative compositions. The equestrians serve as a bench mark of where I am on my journey as a sculptor and express my true state of being. With the latest pieces my inspiration was autobiographical exploring my relationship with the world through sculpture and my recent revelation concerning the exploration of sculpture as sculpture. It’s hard to explain but it’s just about going beyond the representational aspect and accepting that a sculpture is just a form of human expression, there are no rules and you are as free as you choose to be.

I am so looking forward to my next series of horse and riders because I have no idea what they will be like other than a new adventure.
