Time to put the ideas into action

January 20, 2013

After over a year of thought, reflection and change I’m aware that my life is very much back on track. I had a meal tonight with friends and I was the only one not drinking alcohol, the conversation was at times testing but my clarity of thought was reassuring and my ideas stood up to scrutiny. Though I did feel sorry for those happily merry people having to listen to my philosophies on life and art. I never thought that I would be that character but sometimes you have to take life seriously if you want to push on.
Earlier today I spoke to a writer I know, it was good to share stories about the creative process and to realise how much we had in common in our crazy lifes. So today was pretty much about feeling good and being a part of the wider world.
I can now feel the stride forward that I am making and realise that you have to move forward, for a few years I felt like a sitting duck (in my static phase) vulnerable to the army of side swipers and knockers. But if you move forward with your work I think people become aware of your energy which stimulates a natural curiosity and intrigue and kind of gives you protection.
I have also been getting work ready for the Hong Kong art fair, photographing sculpture and working on an idea with a horse & rider and a coke bottle, so it’s been a full day. But I would say My most significant day in ages where the penny has finally dropped and I can at last see a way of fusing my changing ideas with my aesthetic values.
As always it’s there again, another big idea to look forward to in a teasing way, holding you to the cause of creative adventure and what the hell 🙂 I can’t think of anything better to do.

I’ll get there in the end 🙂
